What is the best way to show a discounted item in retail? Show the mark down or lower the price as original?

I have a 10,000 sqft boutique furniture store where we do customizable furniture. We are middle to upper end in price. It seems a little cheesy to mark down items on our floor because we are not a discounter, but like all retail stores we have items that need to go. Do you think it is better to change the price tag to show the new lower price without any mark down showing or to show the mark down so the customer sees the deal he/she is getting? Thanks|||Consumers are drawn to %26quot;sale items%26quot;. It is just part of our culture. That%26#039;s why everyone is at a mall today!! Good luck on your end of stock sale.
