Changing the name/address on my car title costs $140?!?

I went to the auto tag place (in PA) to ask how much it costs to change my name and address on the title of my car then they told me it'd be $140. I just want to avoid the long line at DMV but does this price sound right?

That is outrageous. They should not be allowed to charge you more than a standard registration renewal 1 year fee. That's like 60 bucks here in Michigan. All they're doing is changing the name/address on your little card and in their system.



I don't think you can haggle with those people though. Only way to lower the price would probably be to get the Governor involved, ha ha.

yep cause you repay the tag fee, but i dont think it is renewed, just do like every1 else and fill out the change of addy card, itll come to you.
