What if people traded in there cars for horses to react to gas prices?

Benefits include:

Don't have to buy gas, insurance, tag, oil changes.

And it can be refueled by letting it eat some grass on the side of the road.

To hell with the saudis

We would hear from the environmentalists who would be upset about the increase in manure causing pollution. Then we would hear from PETA about how mean it is to ride a horse. Then, Angela Jolie would want to adopt them all.

BTW, we actually import more gas from Canada than the Saudis! And the govt is the one who placed so many restrictions on our oil that we can't support ourselves.

The Cubans have started doing that about 20 years ago.

Good Luck...
Great idea - I love horses. But I do remember reading that they used to have terrible manure pollution problems in London. (No joke!) Imagine the pooper-scooper laws you'd need with that many horses!
Unicorns can fly, so that would be even better. I like your idea too, though.
The oil boys would find some way to screw it up.
Well some people probly would but I think the best and easiest true ting would but to solve the whole fossil fuel problom in the first place.
Yes, but take into consideration a few things:

Cleaning their waste every time they go

Cost of food

Cost %26amp; maintenance of tack - saddle, bridle, reigns, etc.

Purchasing land adequate to house a horse

Building a barn / stable

Veterinary care

There would probably have to be horse registration and licensing

Grooming

I know it sounds like a great idea, but it's not always as simple as you think.
i just wish people would know when to use the words %26quot;they're, there and their%26quot;. give this answer a thumbs up if you think people look like a redneck when they use the wrong one.
Horses would be a great idea if we weren't also having a food crisis at the same time in our oil dependant world.
