When Someone Insults Your Favorite Firearm...Does It Offend You?

I don't know why I get offended when someone talks bad about my favorite handgun, the Glock. The other day I was selling a gun to this dude who had just turned 21, it was his first handgun. He wanted to know more about the Glock and I showed him the Glocks I had. This man who was looking for a Kimber 1911 interrupted our conversation about the Glocks and told the young man %26quot;Son, what you really need is a man's gun. What you need is a Kimber, you don't need that piece of fecal matter (Glock)%26quot;. I didn't say anything to that older man, but I did ask the young man if he wanted to see the Kimber 1911's and I took him to see them. As soon as the young man saw the price tag on the Kimbers, he quickly changed his mind and instead took the Glock home with him that afternoon. If he had purchased either a Kimber or a Glock, either one is an excellent choice of handgun. I just didn't appreciate the negative comments that the other guy made about my favorite handgun, it sort of offended me.

when someone insults my guns i just ignore their ignorance.

because i know that they have never used one and are just trying to make them feel better about their guns.

i am a die hard 1911 fan myself but i do respect glocks

they are great guns.

get your pants on straight fool

what other people think about your favorite gun shouldn't matter one bit to you, any more than their opinion of your favorite icecream flavor.

Besides, the old man was right.
I have ran into the same issue selling firearms as well as paintball markers. There is nothing you can do except show the customer all the options and explain them correctly and truthfully.
No, it doesn't. No firearm is perfect and everyone has their preferences.

Although I do hate the assh*les who hang around gunshops and talk sh*t about anything that isn't a 1911. At least the GLOCK fans tend to go away when you tell them to.
The 1911 and Walther's P-38,for me,brutal .45,favoring the 9mm for casual shooting. In 22's my husband can't get enough and keeps rebuilding 10/22's.What any one thinks matters little.Getting into rifles I would have to write an article,
Well i love the mosin and almost everyone online hates it. Alhough at the range everyone loves it. Just get what you like
What is ones fancy is another folly

I like the Dan wesson .357 with interchangeable barrels one gun 2-4-6' barrels (Love 1911's)
Going into some gun shops is like going into a living room where every body has an opinion....

qualified or not. If someone cannot handle an others opinion about a firearm, than maybe they are not mature enough to own one.

An armed society is a polite society, as long as you are man or woman enough to handle life's challenges.
